What is a landscape bed renovation?
A bed renovation is a full clean-out and rebuild of an existing planting bed. We pull the weeds, take out dead or overgrown plants, cut a fresh edge, put down new weed barrier, put in new plants if you want them, and finish with mulch or rock. You end up with a bed that has a clear shape again and is easier to keep up.
Beds frame the front of a house. When the edge blurs into the grass and the shrubs grow past the windows, the whole place reads as run down, even if the lawn is cut every week. Fixing a bed is mostly about structure: where the edge is, what is under the mulch, and which plants stay.
When a bed is worth renovating

Mulch or rock on top?
Mulch looks warmer and costs less up front, but it fades and breaks down in Florida heat, so it needs topping off once or twice a year. Rock lasts far longer and needs less attention, but it costs more to install and it holds heat. If you want the least upkeep, rock is usually the answer. We will give you both prices.
What to know before you book
- New plants need water to get established. If you have no irrigation on that bed, tell us, and we will pick plants that can handle it or explain what watering they will need.
- We are not landscape architects. We can lay out a simple, sensible bed. For a full design plan, a designer is the right call.
- Some overgrown shrubs come back fine from a hard cut and some do not. We will tell you which ones we would replace instead.
